The Great Copper Mountain
Falun, Bergslagen and a thousand years of Swedish copper. How a mine became a colour, a heritage site and the logo on an LJB wallet and belt.

Moorland brown, with copper from the bedrock
Leave your email address and we will write when a series opens. We send very few emails and never share addresses.
A belt in premium brown leather, finished with the LJB logo in copper. The colour is that of pine bark and late autumn moorland; the metal is the one held in Sweden’s bedrock, brought into the light and worn close. Released as a numbered series of twenty-five.
The leather is brown. It is chosen for how it wears rather than how it looks on the first day. Worn daily, it softens, deepens in colour and settles to the shape of one person. A belt is a strap and a buckle; this one adds nothing to that.
The logo is copper. Sweden rests on old bedrock, and in Bergslagen, the mining region of central Sweden, that rock holds ore. Copper lies in its veins, held in grey stone for an age before it is brought into the light. The mark on this belt is that metal, set small: a warm point against the brown.
Swedish design has long preferred the plain thing made well. The belt follows that preference. The copper mark is its only ornament.
Each belt carries its own number, given in order of purchase and known to its owner alone. When the last belt is spoken for, the series closes, and any series that follows begins again at one.
